It also allows you to configure actions for keyboard shortcuts, normal mice and the Apple Remote. I'm not a fan of the Mac Catalyst thing in general, but it's good for certain types of apps and it works great for AU's that don't really do much multitouch interaction. Getting an iOS AUv3 to compile and run on a Mac is pretty straight forward. Logic shouldn't need to restart and it shouldn't crash. The iOS AU is sandboxed and specifically not running in process in Logic. I think it detects the AU crashing and then gives up. I don't think Logic really even does crash. The second is that no host should crash from an iOS AU going down. This is actually pretty easy to trace and they should be able to track it if they get enough bug reports. The first is the bug in the AU side of things that causes an AU to crash when you scroll. I think there are actually a couple of bugs involved with this. I've filed a bug report with Apple about the crashing host with an iOS AUv3 scroll bug. The standalone version runs mostly fine and it can be useful for creating presets and try things out etc but at the end it is not worth the hassle for me.īut then it seems some developers find a way of working AUv3 on Mac inside Logic, so it should be possible.įor those not working I still wished they opted out or fix it. So far I gave up on iOS apps running on my M1 and the truth is there is anyway no reason for me to try it anymore since all I need is already there for Mac.ĭrambo is still the main app I would love to run as AUv3 inside Logic but again there is the GUI bug when you scroll anything it crash the DAW. ![]() This is also one of the main thing not working with other plug-ins. ![]() Almost no iOS AUv3 runs on M1 due to some GUI problems.
